Running out of date night ideas this winter? It can be hard to plan a night out when the high is 16 degrees and all you want to do is stay in an watch a movie. Well don’t worry I’ve got you covered with five dates both of you will really enjoy in Grand Rapids. Try a new restaurant, walk around downtown and try one of my top date nights to embrace this cold and snowy weather.
1. Ice Skating at Rosa Parks Circle
Lace up those skates and head to Rosa Parks Circle for a winter date night in the city. Grab dinner at Osteria Rosa and end the night with drinks or dessert at Reserve for a perfect date night.
2. Visit the GRAM
Did you know the Grand Rapids Art Museum is free on Thursday night? Get lost looking at pieces from Andy Warhol’s unique exhibition until February 11. After walking through the museum head to Sidebar for a drink.
3. Take a Cooking Class from The Local Epicurean
Even if cooking isn’t really your thing try a cooking class at The Local Epicurean this winter (trust me). The fun part is trying something new and the food at The Local Epicurean is absolutely amazing. Have you tried their pasta? #obsessed
4. See Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World at Frederik Meijer Gardens
Head out to Frederik Meijer Gardens to see Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World until January 7th. After walking through the winter wonderland make your way to Nonna’s: The Trattoria in Ada for a delicious dinner.
5. Enjoy a Griffins Game
If you both enjoy sports head to a Griffins game on Friday for $2 beers and $2 dogs (yes, you read that correctly). Get some tickets and have a fun and cheap date night on Friday.
