If you didn’t already know this I LOVE yoga. I tried yoga for the first time while I was in college and it just really stuck with me as a great workout for my mind and body. For awhile yoga got pushed to the back burner as I didn’t think I needed it. Little did I know I was so wrong. So, now I practice yoga every week (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week) at MVP Sportsplex and this “me time” is essential to my wellbeing.
Here are some reasons why I do yoga every week at MVP Sportsplex:
Every Practice is Different
Depending on your instructor or type of yoga class each session varies with the types of poses or length that you hold each pose. I like a workout that keeps me on my toes and has some variety to keep me interested. And I should mention that your yoga practice can look much different than the person standing beside you. You can really tailor yoga to fit your comfort level and abilities to make it your own.
Yoga is Great For My Mind
Sure yoga is great for my body, but I think it’s even better for my mind. Doing yoga centers me and gives me a sense of peace. As someone who carries a lot of stress my yoga practice is essential for keeping me on track for the week. For just an hour I can focus on my myself and my yoga practice.
I Meet New People
The great thing about yoga is it creates a sense of community. I love walking into class seeing familiar faces and new faces and a feeling that we’re in this together. As I mentioned yoga is a personal practice but together we can support each other and become stronger.
