Have you heard about Flashfood? The Flashfood app is my new best friend at the grocery store. The app helps me save money on groceries, and helps grocery stores reduce store generated food waste. Items like meat or produce that are nearing their best before date are placed in the Flashfood fridge instead of being thrown out. By using the app I can browse for Flashfood deals and save at least 50% on the items available. Pretty great right?
Why I Love Using Flashfood:
The App is Easy to Use
The Flashfood app is free to download, and very easy to use. Once you create an account you can search Flashfood fridges at your local grocery stores. Each store has different items in their fridges depending on the products that are nearing the best before date. Once you find the items or items you want to purchase you add them to your cart and check out on the app. When you get to your grocery store you can pick up your items from the fridge and confirm your payment with guest services.
I Save Money on Groceries
I planned on making tacos for dinner last week, and usually I pick up a rotisserie chicken at the grocery store for Cory. This way Cory can make chicken tacos and use the leftover meat for other lunches throughout the week. I typically spend around $7.99 at our local grocery store for a rotisserie chicken, but using Flashfood we got it for $3.99. The chicken was nearing the best before date, but since Cory would use it right away it was perfect.
It Reduces Waste
Flashfood launched in Canada, and has diverted 3 million pounds as a company as of December 2019. How cool is that? With Flashfood expanding to the US, I’m so excited to see how much more waste we can divert. It’s crazy to think about the amount of food that gets thrown away. I love that Flashfood is on a mission to help reduce this waste at grocery stores.
You can download the Flashfood app and use my referral link so you can get a $5 credit after making a purchase of at least 50 cents.
