Ok, I’m finally sharing all the details on our NYC long weekend. I had a lot of messages on Instagram requesting a full recap of restaurants and places we visited in the city. So here you go! Scroll down for the details on our weekend getaway in New York City.
Where to Stay
We stayed at the Beekman Hotel while we were in New York City. This hotel is located in the Financial District and the location worked really well for us. How stunning is this view?! We loved the ambiance of this hotel, the staff, and our room was actually pretty spacious (for NYC). The Bar Room and Temple Court were perfect for breakfast in the morning or a drink at night. I think our favorite thing about this hotel was the luxury house car that could take us places nearby. This was a great amenity to have at an NYC hotel, and we would definitely stay here again.
Where to Eat
For lunch I would highly recommend All’antico Vinaio. Cory and I visited this sandwich shop in Florence while we were on our honeymoon. We waited quite awhile in line in Florence and in NYC for a sandwich but I can tell you it’s 100% worth it. These sandwiches are delicious (big enough to split with someone) and again worth the wait in line.
I’ve had Rubirosa Ristorante on my list to visit for quite awhile. This restaurant is difficult to get reservations, but you can check Resy before your trip to try and snag a reservation. Since it was just Cory and I we tried to get a seat at the bar for lunch and it worked perfectly. The pizza was SO GOOD and I can totally see why this place is popular.
For brunch you can’t go wrong with Sant Ambroeus in Soho. We sat outside on a warm summer afternoon and the food is great for brunch or lunch. We’ve also been to their West Palm location for dinner and really enjoyed the pastas. You can easily make a reservation at Sant Ambroeus on Resy.
Our first night in NYC we had dinner at Altro Paradiso. I had heard their cacio e pepe is amazing, so of course I made a reservation here. Reservations are fairly easy to get at this restaurant, and I would suggest making one. The arancini was the biggest highlight here, and the cacio e pepe was really good. If you like Italian food or you’re coming to the city with a group I would highly recommend this restaurant.
You better believe I stalked Resy when reservations were released for Carbone. Reservations are VERY difficult to get and I’m really glad we got one. I didn’t understand what all the hype was with their famous spicy rigatoni vodka, but I can tell you it’s one of the best dishes we’ve had. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious, and the experience is one of a kind. We still talk about this dinner and I would totally go back here.
If you’re a fan of French cuisine I would highly recommend Pastis. The location of this restaurant it perfect for people watching, and the food is really good. Cory got the steak frites and I loved the trout amandine.
Where to Drink
We love grabbing a drink at RH New York! Cory and I are big fans of the RH restaurants (we’ve visited them in Napa, Chicago, West Palm and NYC). Their city rooftop is stunning and they have a great wine list (including my favorite Scribe rose). This restaurant can get pretty busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation.
I just had to visit Bemelmans Bar while we were in NYC. The murals by Ludwig Bemelmans (the creator of Madeline) are so cute. The drinks here were also amazing and the service was incredible. I would love to come in the evening to enjoy the pianist.
I told Cory it would be fun to check out Dante which was named the worlds best bar in 2019. So we walked by and managed to snag at seat at the bar. They also serve food (which looked amazing) and it was VERY busy. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar to watch the bartenders make the drinks. You have to try the Fluffy Margarita Royale cocktail if you come here. Cory and I still talk about how it’s the best margarita we’ve ever had.
Things to Do
We centered our NYC trip around the US Open and attended the first day. Obviously this tournament isn’t going on right now, but I would highly recommend checkout out a sporting event, broadway show, or concert while you’re in the city. There’s always so much going on that it’s fun to plan you trip around an event. PS if you’re considering going to the US Open sometime we would definitely recommend it. Cory and I had a great time!
I also would recommend checking out The Met while you’re in NYC. It was on my list to check out and see the In America: An Anthology of Fashion exhibit. This museum is HUGE and you could spend all day here, so plan accordingly.
