I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream during the summer. With so many ice cream joints to choose from I’ve done the hard work and narrowed it down to my top 5 ice cream spots in Grand Rapids. So grab your friends or family and beat the heat at these ice cream spots before the summer is over.
1. Jersey Junction
You can’t miss Jersey Junction with its iconic red building in East Grand Rapids. This old fashioned ice cream parlor is a step back in time with 28 flavors to choose from (the toughest part) and the best waffle cones in town. Enjoy your ice cream, shake or frozen chocolate banana outdoors on a warm summer night this week for a cool treat.
2. Love’s Ice Cream
Located in The Downtown Market you can find Love’s Ice Cream featuring vegan and grass-fed dairy options all homemade. Trust me when I say their ice cream is absolutely amazing after grabbing a bite to eat in the market and you can’t beat the fun Mitten Pop. All ingredients used at Love’s are sourced locally which totally makes a difference. Don’t forget to join their Birthday Club!
3. Pinkie’s Ice Cream
With over 30 flavors to choose from Pinkie’s Ice Cream is the place to be. Pinkie’s features ice cream from Sherman’s of South Haven including flavors like Birthday Cake, Key Lime Pie, Coconut Almond Fudge and Chocolate Covered Pretzel. Keep your eyes open for their food truck around Grand Rapids this summer to enjoy these treats on the go!
4. Furniture City Creamery
Where can you find ice cream made from scratch with local innovative flavors? Furniture City Creamery is located in East Hills and features homemade ice cream made with local ingredients which is amazing. They also offer vegan ice cream for those who can’t eat dairy and delicious ice cream sandwiches.
5. The Parlor at Cherry Hill Market
The Parlor at Cherry Hill Market is near and dear to my heart because it was within walking distance to my home in East Hills. On a hot summer night this was my go-to place for ice cream. With flavors like Campfire S’mores, Cookie Monster, and Peanut Butter Brownie Delight you can’t go wrong with this spot to find a flavor that everyone will love.
