Did you know today is National Drink Wine Day? Cheers! I thought this would be a great excuse to share some of my top spots for enjoying a glass of wine right here in Grand Rapids. Whether you like sparkling, white, or red wine here are my top picks.
1. House of Wine
If you haven’t been to House of Wine I would highly recommend it for a glass of wine! Whether you’re just getting into wine, or you know exactly what type of wine you like this place is for you. With their awesome wine preservation system you can enjoy wines by the taste, the glass or by the bottle. I’m also a huge fan of their build-your-own charcuterie board with a wide variety of cheeses and meats that has something for everyone. Don’t miss their retail wine shop if you find a wine you really enjoy!
2. Paddock Place
I love the atmosphere at Paddock Place to grab a drink during the summer outside or sit by the cozy fire in the winter. It’s the perfect spot to grab a drink with friends and just relax. They also have great food options like pizza, salads and yummy snacks like beer cheese.
3. Reserve
For some great wine (and food) head to Reserve! They have an extensive wine menu with so many great options. I love trying something new each time I visit, and trust me don’t miss out on their awesome happy hour.
4. Terra
Since Terra is close to our neighborhood we love visiting with friends or family. The wine list is easy to read through, and I always love their customer service if I have a question about the wine. The atmosphere in the summer or winter is great for relaxing with a good glass of wine.
5. New Hotel Mertens
When I’m in the mode for some of my favorite Michigan wine I love a trip to New Hotel Mertens. They have an amazing wine list, but I really love the highlight of Michigan wine’s available by the glass or bottle. The pinot grigio from Bluestone and Shady Lane pinot gris are two of my go-tos.
6. Aperitivo
We love grabbing a glass of wine at Aperitivo while we’re at the Downtown Market. With a great wine menu and charcuterie options we love this spot for a date night.
