This summer, whether you are getting in your workouts running outdoors or working out in a gym, music can be a source of motivation and help me push myself harder through a workout. Lets face it, a workout without music is pretty boring. Right now I’m loving my latest playlist I created on Spotify and recently tried it out at MVP Sports Clubs. You can actually listen to my latest summer workout playlist to hear some of my favorite songs that get me motivated at the gym.
Here are some reasons that I love listening to music while I workout:
Music Boosts My Mood
When I hear one of my favorite songs it makes me want to push my workout a little harder or keeps me on track to keep my workout going. I love using the elliptical at MVP Athletic Club and keeping the beat with my music helps me to boost my mood and makes my workout feel uplifting. Sometimes I’ll find a new playlist at home or create a new playlist before working out to make me motivated.
Music Makes Exercise Feel “Easier” For Me
A good playlist full of my songs that are upbeat makes me feel like the workout is much “easier” to keep me going. On the days I accidentally forget my earbuds the workouts seem like a struggle to make it through.
Music Makes Exercise Fun
Everyone has different preferences with music so you can make your own playlists or find playlists that cater to your style. I think switching it up every workout can also be fun to find new music or songs you haven’t heard in awhile. A song that brings me back to high school or a favorite song that pops up in a playlist always brings a smile to my face and really does make working out fun.
Music Can Set The Pace and Length of My Workout
Depending on how long you want your workout to last you can cater your playlist to set the pace and length of your workout. If you want a good 60 minute workout you can create a playlist that helps you stay on track and maybe incorporate some upbeat songs in the middle and slower paced songs for your cool down.
What are some of your favorite songs or playlists to listen to while working out?
