Happy National Love Your Pet Day. Many of you have seen my dog Wrigley on Instagram (he even has his own Instagram account @thegrdog). Since today is all about loving your pet I thought I would share some of my dog essentials that I love here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Feel free to share some of your favorites in the comments!
Beer City Dog Treats
I love buying Wrigley dog treats that also support a great cause. Beer City Dog Treats help with training and employment for adults with developmental disabilities. How amazing is that? They are headquartered here in Grand Rapids and you can find these treats at many local retailers including The Counting House, Mason Jones and Founders. PS these also make great gifts (they were a big hit at Christmas with my family).
A Pleasant Dog
When I rescued Wrigley it was essential to start some training ASAP. A Pleasant Dog was so helpful with their Puppy 101 Class that taught Wrigley some great fundamentals. Depending on what you and/or your dog needs they have a wide variety of group classes, workshops, special services or private training options.
Fido & Stitch
I love visiting Fido & Stitch to find Wrigley a new toy or bone. They have a great selection of fun products and exciting events for both you and your dog. And, if you live downtown this is an easy spot to pick up dog food or bring your dog in for grooming.
Reeds Lake
When the weather gets a little nicer we love taking Wrigley for a walk by Reeds Lake. He loves walking on the dock to see the ducks in the lake and walking the trail. We don’t walk the entire trail (4.2 miles), but this is a great way for all of us to get some exercise in.
