Ando Sushi + Bar
Cory and I love going to Ando for lunch. They have great sushi options (I love the spicy tuna and Cory loves the south philly) that are perfect portions for lunch. You can order 2 rolls for $14 which is an awesome deal and typically add the spicy edamame. This is good spot to grab lunch if you work downtown or meeting a client.
Rose’s
On a sunny day Rose’s on Reeds Lake is our go-to spot for lunch. A view of the lake and a delicious salad is perfection for me. I always order the farro salad with fresh veggies and my favorite sticky chardonnay dressing. Cory is a huge fan of the cranberry turkey sandwich (which tastes just like Thanksgiving) or the Rose’s burger. I also love the little cup of caramel corn at the end of your meal.
Wiki Wiki Poke
If you haven’t been to Wiki Wiki Poke yet you’re missing out. These bowls are so delicious with the fresh seafood. I’m a big fan of the O.G. with marinated ahi tuna, avocado, and the pickled ginger. My mouth is watering just typing this so I might need Wiki Wiki Poke shop for lunch today.
Schnitz Deli
For that true lunch deli sandwich experience you can’t go wrong with Schnitz Deli. They have over 20 sandwich options or you can build your own sandwich with many types of meat, bread and cheese. I’m also a huge fan of their soups like tomato basil or cheddar potato.
Uncle Cheetah’s Soup Shop
On a cold afternoon I always crave some soup from Uncle Cheetah’s Soup Shop. You can check their Instagram for a list of soups that changes daily. I love the tomato saffron, roasted red pepper, or ratatouille paired with the blue bonnet salad.
Cafe de Miro
I love the atmosphere and lovely food and drink options at Cafe de Miro. The goat cheese panini is my sister’s absolute favorite (she doesn’t stop talking about it). I’m in love with their espresso coffee and sweet treats like the coconut macaroon.
Terra
You guys know I love Terra’s pizza, but I’m also in love with their salads for lunch. I’m a fan of the gazelle salad with added salmon and their hummus or smoked salmon spread. Everything is so fresh and seasonal that I always love trying something new here. Terra is a great lunch spot to meet your girlfriends or co-workers.
Butcher’s Union
If you’re downtown stop by Butcher’s Union for lunch. I love Butcher’s Union for dinner, but it’s also such a great option for lunch. I always get the hot elote corn dip to share with the table and a salad for lunch. Cory really likes the smokehouse barbecue pork sandwich at Butcher’s Union for lunch.
Cherry Deli
If you’re a big fan of sandwiches for lunch Cherry Deli is the spot for you. They have so many different sandwiches (all named after streets in GR) that everyone can find something they like. I like trying a different vegetarian sandwich every time I visit, and I can’t leave without a cookie for dessert.
Kingfisher
Kingfisher had me at everyday brunch. This restaurant is great if you love brunch, but they also have fantastic salad options and sandwiches. I had the avocado toast for lunch the last time I was in and it was amazing. Cory really loved the scrambled egg sandwich with ham.
