Fall fashion is here! I’m sure you’ve probably started transitioning your closet for Fall pulling out all your sweaters and boots. Goodbye summer! It’s always this time of year that I notice items I no longer wear or items I could use more of. Are you in the same boat? I’m all about adding some trendy items in my closet, but most importantly investing in staples that I’ll wear from year to year. Fall fashion has always been something I really love having worked in the industry for five years and being a personal stylist. So here are some items that I’m eyeing for Fall.
Long Coats
This J.Crew long caramel colored coat has been a staple in my closet the past few years. It’s a silhouette that will never go out of style and a must have for the cold winter months in Michigan. I love the color options of this Boden coat!
Plaid Anything
Last year plaid coats were all the rage and I’m here to say this trend is still big for this fall. Well, let’s be real anything plaid is really a must for this season. I have this J.Crew plaid blazer that I loved wearing as a layering option and light coat early in the season. I think this oversized coat from Old Navy would be so cute and affordable to add to your closet.
Asymmetrical Tops
The asymmetrical necklines were a big trend on the runways. It’s a great look for date night this season, and a style that really doesn’t go out of style. This top from Zara is currently sitting in my cart.
Cozy Fleece Fabrics
The teddy coats were a big trend the past couple of seasons and that “outdoor” looking trend is still in. I’m a huge fan of this Patagonia retro-x fleece for cool fall mornings or this cozy J.Crew option. Let’s be honest fleece jackets are a must when you live in Michigan.
Combat Boots
The chunky heeled combat boots are in for Fall/Winter. My boots need a refresh after the harsh Michigan winters. I honestly love the chunky heeled boots paired with a dress this season. I’m currently scrolling these options from DSW.
Belts
Add a belt to your blazers or oversized sweaters this season. This easy accessory is probably something you already have in your closet and can re-purpose. I have my eye on a croc inspired textile and brown color like this one from Something Navy.
Oversized Sweaters
I’m all about adding some new sweaters in my closet right now. Once the snow comes I love anything cozy and an oversized sweater is just that. I’m loving this option from Free People.
What are some of your favorite trends this fall?
