Since we’ve been in quarantine I’ve gotten back into reading every night. It’s actually been really nice getting back in this routine. I’ve found myself sleeping better since I started reading again, and for that I’m super thankful. I thought I would share a few of my favorite books that I’ve recently read and truly enjoyed. If you’ve read any of these books or plan to read them please let me know in the comments below!
Books I Recently Enjoyed
In Five Years
In Five Years was a quick read that would be great for reading on the beach. Dannie has the “perfect” life but that’s all about to change throughout the book. This book dives into friendship, romance and the role of expectations in life. I could totally see this book being made into a movie.
The Nightingale
Get ready for a tearjerker (have tissues on hand) and incredible story with The Nightingale. I literally couldn’t put this book down. The story follows two sisters in France during World War II, and it was interesting to understanding the war from a women’s point of view. Some parts of this book were extremely difficult to read, but the story is amazing. I think this book is actually being made into a movie soon.
The Last House Guest
If you enjoy a good suspense thriller you’ll love The Last House Guest. I couldn’t put this book down because I had to see what happened at the end. It kept me guessing until the last page and really had me hooked.
Paris Is Always A Good Idea
If you loved “Emily in Paris” on Netflix you’ll love the book Paris Is Always A Good Idea. Obviously when I found out this book was set in Boston, Paris and Italy I knew I would enjoy it. This is a great romance novel mixed with traveling and perfect for a quick read.
The Silent Patient
The Silent Patient is another great suspense thriller that had me guessing until the end. This is a book you won’t be able to put down…trust me.
The Scent Keeper
I liked The Scent Keeper, but I wouldn’t say it was my all time favorite recent read. It kept me entertained, but I wasn’t hooked like many of these other books on the list. It’s a good coming-of-age story, and had some good moments.
The Jetsetters
The Jetsetters had me hooked because of the travel spots throughout the book. The story follows a widow who takes her adult children on a cruise. There were some great parts in the book, but overall not at the top of my list.
