As a Grand Rapids girl (born and raised) I’m excited to be your guide around this city, and also share more about my life. I spent five years in Chicago after graduating from Calvin University, and worked in advertising & fashion. It was at this time I started my first lifestyle blog Project Soiree. Here I featured interviews with fellow bloggers, restaurant reviews, recipes and my favorite fashion trends. I loved this creative outlet as a way to find new inspiration, meet new friends and write about my adventures in the big city.
After moving back to Grand Rapids, Michigan I had this idea to start The GR Guide. I’m extremely passionate about the growth of this city, and sharing insights about my life. After balancing a 9-5 job and trying to keep up with The GR Guide I’ve taken the plunge in doing this full time. I’m so happy I took this risk and I pinch myself every day that this is my actual job.
Thank you for taking the time to read the blog, follow me on social media and just say “hello.” I’m so thankful for this space and how much it continues to inspire me each day. Feel free to email me at info@thegrguide.com or send a DM if you need a restaurant suggestion, interior design help or a travel related question. I love helping (seriously)!
Get to Know Me
I live in Grand Rapids (duh) with my husband Cory and our rescue dog Wrigley. Wrigley is a golden-chow mix, and named after Wrigley Field in Chicago. We frequently make trips up north to visit our favorite wineries, and spend time by Lake Michigan. I’m happiest when I’m by the water, it always feels like home to me.
I’m very passionate about traveling, and love how you can learn new things about yourself in a different city. I think it’s so important to travel to have a better understanding of people, cultures and experiencing something new. If I could get on a plane right now and travel anywhere I would go back to Italy.
I have a large collection of greeting cards and love sending notes to family and friends. If I wasn’t blogging I would probably be an interior designer. I get inspired by exploring new cities, antique shops, sunsets, a fresh bouquet of flowers, and a new art canvas. I really enjoy sharing my life with you here on The GR Guide.
If you want to learn more about here are 30 things you might not know about me. Thank you again for your love and support for The GR Guide. I really appreciate it!
xoxo
