We recently got home from our annual week in Glen Arbor, Michigan. This is a week we look forward to all year long. I’ve been coming to Glen Arbor since I was 3 years old, and it’s become a special place to enjoy with my family. I have so many memories swimming in Little Glen Lake, eating ice cream at The Pine Cone, shopping at Cherry Republic, and making s’mores around the campfire. If you haven’t been to Glen Arbor you can check out this blog post with information about my favorite places. I’m sharing a little about our most recent trip below!
The Homestead
When we were younger we camped in Glen Arbor, but these days we stay at The Homestead. We’ve stayed in just about every part of The Homestead, and it’s great they have something for everyone. Whether you’re traveling as a couple or a large family they have a lot of lodging options. We usually rent through Leelanau Vacation Rentals and book a condo with four bedrooms to accommodate all of us.
Things To Do
We love spending a day on a boat while we’re in Northern Michigan. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Leelanau from The Narrows Yacht Club. Obviously this was a highlight for my nephews who love fishing and swimming in the lake.
Enjoy hiking? Check out Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pyramid Point Trail and Empire Bluff Trail while you’re in Glen Arbor. We usually do all of these during our week long stay.
If you enjoy wine you’ll love the different wineries in the area. We’re big fans of Blustone Vineyards so we always enjoy an afternoon here. You can check out this older blog post with my guide to wine tasting in Traverse City and Leelanau Peninsula.
We enjoy visiting the Glen Arbor farmer’s market on Tuesdays in town. This is a great spot to grab baked goods and fresh produce like strawberries. If you want my favorite things to do in Glen Arbor like shopping and dining check out this blog post. PS this dress is a summer favorite from Duffield Lane.
Leland, MI
We always visit Leland multiple times throughout our week in Glen Arbor. We usually grab fish from Carlson’s Fishery for dinner, Village Cheese Shanty for lunch, and of course some shopping. I need to put together a full blog post about Leland so stay tuned. But, here are some must visit spots if you go to Leland.
Duffield Lane – Duffield Lane has a pop-up for summer! Be sure to stop in here to shop your favorite dresses and even clothing for men. Cory bought a hat while we were here.
Madcap – Your favorite Michigan coffee shop is now in Leland!
The Warren Collective – A must for shopping fun pieces from Kristin Mackenzie Design.
Leland Gal – A true favorite of mine for home goods and more.
Picnic Leland – If you want ice cream or items for a picnic stop here!
Etc.
I also have to share Farm Club if you’re looking for lunch on your way up to Glen Arbor. This was my second time here and we absolutely love the food and friendly staff.
