Gosh, it feels good to let you in our secret…we’re having a baby! In case you missed that news on Instagram yesterday we have little one joining us this Fall. All of your DMs and comments have been so sweet, and both Cory and I wanted to say “thank you.”
The last few months have been a whirlwind of emotions. It’s finally starting to feel real with this bump, baby movements and seeing the baby via ultrasound. We found out we were pregnant a couple weeks before our trip to Italy. So, if you saw me pictured with wine it wasn’t mine. Of course Italy was an amazing trip, but being there in my first trimester was quite a challenge. We’ll have quite a few stories to tell this little one someday.
Common Questions:
Will you find out the gender?
YES! We found out the gender and still need to share the news with family & friends. Cory and I are big planners so waiting or being surprised was not an option for us. We’ll share the gender with you guys soon!
How did you tell Cory?
Honestly, there wasn’t a huge reveal in telling Cory I was pregnant. Like I said, we found out just a week or two before leaving for Italy. Obviously hosting that trip was a big deal and we had so much prep work to do. Something felt off with my eating habits, certain foods didn’t sound good, and I was really tired. Cory could obviously tell something wasn’t right so we found out together.
How have you been feeling?
Now that I’m in my second trimester I feel great! The first trimester wasn’t easy, but after talking to some friends I guess it could have been worse. I felt nauseous in the evenings so dinner was the worst part of the day for me. The smell of cooking, being tired, and just feeling off were the hardest for me. Right now I’m feeling really good and just taking everything one day at a time.
Any crazy cravings?
During my first trimester carbs were must have. I loved macaroni and cheese, cereal bars, toast, etc. We also made multiple trips to Wendy’s for a Frosty during the first trimester lol. I feel like I’m back to my usual diet and don’t have any crazy cravings these days.
Do you have a name picked out?
We’re just starting to discuss names. We have the middle name pretty much figured out, but still talking about the first name.
Are you working on the nursery?
Cory is getting kicked out of his office soon and joining me in the attic space. We have some paint colors on the wall that we’re trying to decide on. I’ve got a vision for a neutral nursery, but I’ll share more soon.
Are you going to share a ton of baby content?
The GR Guide has grown with me through every stage of my life. When I started this blog I was single and had just moved back from living in Chicago. I don’t see this blog or my social pages turning into an overload of baby content. That isn’t my main focus here, but I’ll share a few things along the way.
Thank you again for your love and support!
