A few of you asked for a book club recap for 2022 so here it is! Kelli and I really enjoyed the book club pick, and discussing them with you on IG Live. I promise we’ll try for an in-person meeting with you guys soon! PS join us tonight on IG Live to discuss When in Rome at 8 PM.
Book Club Recap 2022
January – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Kelli and I are big fans of Taylor Jenkins Reid. She has a way of really developing her characters and telling a great story. Also, don’t miss Daisy Jones and the Six, Malibu Rising or Carrie Soto is Back from Taylor Jenkins Reid.
February – Taste by Stanley Tucci
Cory and I really enjoyed watching Stanley Tucci on CNN’s Searching for Italy. If you haven’t watched this show I would highly recommend it. His book Taste is also really fun with stories and recipes. We had fun making his martini recipe on IG Live!
March – The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
Out of all the books we read last year this one ranks at the bottom for me. The story took awhile to develop so it was a very slow start. By the end it all came together and was worth reading, but it overall it wasn’t my favorite.
April – One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle
If you’re headed on vacation or need a quick read I would highly recommend One Italian Summer. I think I read this book in a couple of days because I couldn’t put it down. It’s a great story set in Positano (my favorite) and really fun to read.
May – I Guess I Haven’t Learned That Yet by Shauna Niequist
Kelli and I have read all of Shauna Niequist’s books and we both really enjoyed this one. I Guess I Haven’t Learned That Yet is a book you’ll continue to reach for to reference different chapters.
June – Book Lovers by Emily Henry
You guys know how much we love books by Emily Henry. Book Lovers is in my top 3 books for 2022. I loved the characters and the story line and would definitely recommend this book. Also, don’t miss People We Meet on Vacation and Beach Read!
July – Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
My favorite book of 2022 was Lessons in Chemistry. This book was truly amazing and I loved the main character. If you haven’t read this one yet you should definitely add it to your list!
August – The Retreat by Sarah Pearse
Do you love a good suspense novel? The Retreat had be guessing until the end trying to figure it out. I’ve also read The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse and liked that book a little more than this one. But, if you’re looking for a suspenseful book I would recommend both of them.
September – Meant to Be by Emily Giffin
This was my first time reading a book by Emily Giffin (shocking), and I really liked Meant to Be. If you need a beach read this is the perfect book.
October – Every Summer After by Carley Fortune
I truly enjoyed reading Every Summer After. I couldn’t put this book down, and loved the depth of charters. I’m excited to read more books by Carley Fortune in the future.
November – Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow ranks as my second favorite book from 2022. I loved this story and the characters. If you haven’t read this one add it to your list.
December – When in Rome by Sarah Adams
When in Rome was such a cute book. For a romance novel I thought this one was really good. The characters were fun and I thought it had a good story line. Join us tonight to discuss this one!
I hope you enjoyed this book club recap! What was your favorite book from 2022?
