The 411 in the 616: Spring Has Sprung

Happy Monday and cheers to a new week! Cory and I tried to take full advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend. We ended up hitting some golf balls at Maple Hill and Indian Trails as I attempt to learn the game. It’s my goal this spring/summer to look into lessons (any recommendations are welcome). We also took Wrigley on some extra long walks in the neighborhood so we could all get some exercise and soak up the sun. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and without further ado here’s this week’s 411 in the 616.

What I’m Excited About This Week

Cheers to Oberon Day! Cory’s favorite beer is Oberon, and if you live in Michigan you look forward to this day as a kick off to warmer weather ahead. There are tons of events happening throughout Michigan to celebrate today. You can even try an Oberon inspired cupcake at The Cakabakery (yes please).

Happy 1 year ROAM! They are celebrating on Tuesday, March 26 with some special treats.

Cory and I are headed to Chicago this weekend for and extended birthday celebration. I can’t wait to try some new restaurants and see some friends in the city. If you’re planning a trip to Chicago soon here’s my Weekend Guide to Chicago.

Things I’m Loving Right Now

I had an extra birthday celebration with my family over the weekend with my favorite Bill Knapp’s chocolate cake. If you grew up in West Michigan you might remember this restaurant and their famous cake. You can still find it at select stores, and it’s a must for my birthday.

Cory and I recently went to Osteria Rossa for happy hour with friends. They recently updated their happy hour menu and I really loved the marcona almonds and the margherita pizza.

Fresh flowers at home from Ludema’s. Cory got me white hydrangeas for my birthday and they still look amazing.
