It’s been a long and cold winter here in Grand Rapids, but I’m happy to announce that pool season is right around the corner. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to be outside enjoying some sun, exercise and relaxation at the outdoor pools at MVP Sportsplex and MVP Athletic Club in Grand Rapids opening May 26 this year. If you’re already a member of MVP Sports Clubs or considering a membership here are some reasons I’m excited to dive into pool season.
Family Friendly Events
In addition to swimming or laying out on the pool deck, MVP offers a variety of lawn games and activities including outdoor chess, corn hole, ping pong and hammocks to keep you entertained. Additionally, throughout the summer MVP Athletic Club, Crahen will offer sand sculpting workshops, activities for kids, food trucks and more!
Perfect Picnic Spot
Did you know the MVP Athletic Club offers four gas grills and picnic tables? Pack a picnic with your family or friends and enjoy your lunch or dinner outdoors. After eating relax by the pool before jumping into the refreshing water. If you don’t enjoy grilling you can also purchase food and drink at the concessions.
Get Some Exercise
The Outdoor Aquatic Center at MVP Sportsplex features two twisty slides and the WIBIT AQUATRACK. With these activities it’s easy to stay active at the pool with the whole family (I love racing my sister on the WIBIT AQUATRACK). MVP Athletic Club also offers a twisty slide, lap pool, outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts and sand volleyball for hours of entertainment outdoors.
Relax
Those who know me well already know that I love reading a good book and enjoying time outside which I can easily do at the pool. It’s easy to rent a book from the library, grab a new magazine or browse a cookbook (I seriously love doing this) while relaxing in a lounge chair at the pool. If you have any good book recommendations please leave a comment below!
