There are a ton of fun things going on this week in Grand Rapids! From painting to movies in the park I’ve got a full list of awesome things to do before the end of summer. Get your weekly recap and enjoy these final weeks of summer with friends and family at these events.
Exciting Events
Try Painting and Pinot with the Grand Rapids Public Library at Mangiamo! Enjoy a glass of wine while a local artist teaches you painting techniques to create your own masterpiece this Monday, August 15.
Get a taste of East Grand Rapids with the Taste of East this Thursday, August 18! Tickets to try food from local restaurants like Derby Station, Jose Babushka’s and Osta’s are $1 a piece and 50% of proceeds benefit the Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital. You can also bring the kid’s to enjoy crafts and bounce houses.
Grab your friends or plan a date night to see the final Movies in the Park on Friday, August 19. This final movie is a double feature showing Jumanji and Ferris Bueller’s Day off starting at dusk. Head downtown early for some fun pre-movie entertainment from DJ Adrian Butler and food from food trucks including Love’s Ice Cream or What the Truck.
Have you tried golf in the dark? Stormy Creek Golf Course is hosting a Glowball Tournament this Friday, August 19 for $25/person. Don’t miss out on this fun event!
Enjoy Beers at the Bridge from Gravel Bottom Brewery and music from Thirsty Perch Blues Band this Friday, August 19 at the Historic Ada Covered Bridge. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy food from local vendors with your beer or cider from Sietsema Orchards and Cider Mill.
