Cheers to ArtPrize starting this week! I love seeing downtown Grand Rapids filled with locals and tourists engaging with some amazing art and exploring new restaurants. ArtPrize is surely a highlight this week but there are also some additional awesome events happening around the city. You’re Invited

Enjoy a live mariachi band and all night happy hour to celebrate the various Latin American Independence days at Luna on Monday, September 19 from 7-10PM. Luna will also be raising funds for the adult literacy foundation, Plaza Comunitaria Lanzita.

Yoga at the Grand Rapids Public Museum? Yes please! If you love yoga join Amber Kilpatrick from Mindful Vinyasa School of Yoga on Tuesday, September 20 from 6:30-7:45PM for a yoga class fit for any level.

ArtPrize officially starts on Wednesday, September 21! This international art competition is a highlight in Grand Rapids each Fall and a great time to head downtown with your friends and family to see some amazing art.

Head to Ruth’s Chris for a patio party on Thursday, September 22 with Founders Beer and prime beef sliders! This is the perfect way to kick off ArtPrize and enjoy some awesome food and beer.

Hello Oktoberfest! Celebrate at John Ball Zoo on September 23-24 with German beer, live music and delicious food and desserts. You can also try a Stein holding contest and beer keg toss at this Oktoberfest event. Prost!

Enjoy yoga with the cool glow of blacklight at Soul Pose Yoga on Saturday, September 24 from 8:30-11:30AM at DeVos Place. With fun music, an LED bracelet, and choreographed lighting this is sure to be an awesome yoga experience.

Succulents are the perfect house plant because they don’t require a ton of work (my favorite). Join Swell Succulents at Everlasting Blooms on Saturday, September 24 from 10-11:30AM for a workshop that will teach you tips and tricks to keep your succulents healthy and plant your own.

Moosejaw is celebrating their grand opening on Saturday, September 24 from 12-7PM in Grand Rapids with Founders beer and hotdogs from Yesterdog (the best). Every $25 purchase will also receive a limited edition Moosejaw and Founders pint glass.
