I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend! Summer has officially come to a close and Fall is on the horizon (even though it’s 90 degrees today). With a short week ahead I have a full list of fun events in Grand Rapids to keep you busy. From oysters to donuts here is the 411 in the 616 in Grand Rapids this week.
Noteworthy Events
Grab some friends and head to Long Road Distillers on Tuesday, September 6 starting at 4PM for $1 oysters! This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a cocktail and try some delicious oysters. You can also try a specialty shot flight of Horseradish Vodka, Chipotle Vodka and LRD Gin for only $6 to accompany your oysters. Cheers!
It’s a true sign of Fall when the corn maze at Robinette’s opens on September 8. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” the corn maze features Snoopy as the Red Baron. After making your way through the corn maze stick around to see the movie at 5 PM in the tent.
Enjoy amazing views of the Grand River at the JW Marriott for their Summer Soiree on Friday, September 9. Check out the new outdoor bar on the jdek and music from DJ Composition and say goodbye to summer in style.
Yoga and donuts? Yes please! Head over to Robinette’s for DownDog and Donuts with Seva Yoga on Saturday, September 10 at 9 AM. Enjoy an outdoor yoga session with Dean Jeffery on the lawn followed by complimentary cider and donuts (Free for Seva members and $5 for non-members).
Eastown is hosting their 43rd annual StreetFair to celebrate local art, food, businesses, and music in the neighborhood. The StreetFair runs along Wealthy Street from 9 AM – 8 PM on Saturday, September 10.
Founders Brewing Co. is partnering with FOX17 to host Tribute on the Grand to benefit Grand Rapids Whitewater that focuses on restoring the Grand River. Enjoy live music, beer (of course) and food trucks on September 10 from 4 PM – 11 PM in Ah-Nab-Awen-Park.
Celebrate Osgood Brewing’s 3rd Anniversary on Saturday, September 10 from 5 PM – midnight! The festivities include barrel aged cider and beer, new tappings, a pig roast and live music from DECOY.
