Since it’s my birthday this week I thought I would share a few things you might not know about me on the the blog today. I hope you enjoy learning something new about me, and feel free to ask questions or leave comments!
1. I drink at least two or three LaCroix Sparkling Waters every day. I’m OBSESSED. My favorite flavor is Pure (don’t hate me), but I also love Key Lime, Lime or Lemon.
2. My first “real” job was working at Naked Plates in Breton Village.
3. I went to Calvin College and graduated with a degree in Business-Communications. If you’re wondering which dorm I lived in: Beets-Veenstra!
4. I LOVE to travel. I think I got my love of travel from my grandparents. They traveled all over the world, and really taught me to appreciate learning new things in different cities.
5. I dislike mayonnaise, sour cream, and cream cheese. I’ve seriously tried to like them on different things and I just can’t do it.
6. I always wanted to move to Florida and own a Jeep. Now I have a fiancé from Florida who owns a Jeep. It’s funny how life works out like that.
7. My favorite food is pizza. Check out this post if you want to know some of my favorite spots to eat pizza in GR.
8. I’ve never broken a bone or had stitches. Knock on wood…
9. My favorite season is summer. I would rather have heat and humidity than cold and snow any day.
10. I’ve always wanted to run a marathon. I’ve done a half marathon and maybe I’ll try a marathon in the future (key word here is “maybe”).
11. I love fashion and interior design. Going to fashion week in NYC will always hold a special place in my heart.
12. I need my coffee first thing in the morning. And, if you’re wondering I only drink black coffee – no cream, no sugar, and no fancy flavors.
13. The Parent Trap is my favorite movie. I’ve seen it hundreds of times, I’ve memorized most of the lines, and if it’s on TV I have to watch it.
14. I’m obsessed with the chocolate chips from Trader Joes. I really just love all things dark chocolate.
15. I’ve always wanted to be fluent in another language. I studied Spanish in high school and collage and right now I’m learning Italian.
16. I walk really fast. I blame it on my long legs and living in Chicago.
17. I lived in Chicago for 5 years. Sometimes I miss the “city life”, ease of walking everywhere, amazing restaurants and shopping.
18. Mosquitos love me. I always get a ton of mosquito bites during the summer months, and keep hydrocortisone in my purse at all times. I guess it’s because I’m so sweet right?
19. I love sunsets. I’ve been known to pull off on the side of the road or plan my night around seeing a sunset.
20. Wrigley was quite a handful the first few months I had him. He got sprayed by a skunk, pink eye from the dog park, had complications from his neutering and ran away three times. He really tested my patience, but life wouldn’t be the same without him.
21. I’ve been a pescatarian for almost 10 years. This means I don’t eat any meat products, but I still eat dairy and seafood. I absolutely love all things seafood especially salmon.
22. If I could have dinner with anyone it would be the Barefoot Contessa. I also hope she cooks the dinner.
23. I have one tattoo, but I want more.
24. I have a terrible sense of direction. Google Maps is my best friend.
25. I love greeting cards, and have a giant collection for every occasion.
26. I collect rocks and seashells from our travels. I have them displayed in a glass jar in our living room.
27. I’m terrible at keeping plants alive. The only thing I’ve been able to maintain is our fiddle leaf fig.
28. I have a hard time being still. I’m the type of person that constantly needs something to do.
29. I started my first blog Project Soiree while living in Chicago. I love looking back on some of the old posts.
30. I would rather show up 5 minutes early than 5 minutes late. I get stressed if I’m late for anything.

First of all Happy Fabulous Birthday and celebrate it all week long because one day just isn’t enough. Second, which Parent Trap movie? First (my fav) or the second version?
Sara Visser says
Thank you so much! The second version!
