I’ve had a few people ask me where to find the best pizza in Grand Rapids so here it is. To be honest it wasn’t easy to narrow this list to only five (it was almost impossible) since I’m slightly obsessed with pizza. It has to be that perfect balance of a crispy crust, fresh ingredients and all that cheese. Here are my top 5 picks for pizza in Grand Rapids.
1. Harmony Brewing Co.
I come to Harmony for the beer, but I stay because of the pizza. The wood fired pizzas make all the difference with that crispy bubbly crust made with homemade dough each day. With fresh ingredients that are locally sourced these pizza pies are seriously amazing. As a vegetarian i’m partial to a classic Margherita pizza with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil leaves. My non-vegetarian friends have given the Mi Cubano two thumbs up which gives a cuban sandwich twist on a pizza.
2. Terra
You guys know I love Terra so it’s no surprise that I’m head over heels for their pizza. This is another example of why wood-fired ovens are the absolute best for making a pizza crisp to perfection. Made with local ingredients the Plain Jane with hand-pulled mozzarella, red sauce and sarvecchio is my go-to for happy hour with friends (PS during happy hour their pizzas are all $10). Meat eaters will love the Prosciutto & Arugula or Fennel Sausage pizzas.
3. Andrea’s Pizza
I had to include a spot where you could pick up the phone and call for some amazing pizza delivered to your front door. Andrea’s Pizza has been around for 40 years and has been a family favorite since I was little. The secret to this pizza is the sauce because it seriously takes this pizza to the next level. A great pizza with friendly service and I’ll keep coming back for more.
4. The Mitten Brewing Co.
I love a trip to The Mitten for beer, but again the pizza is the real winner in my book. Most of their pizzas can be made vegetarian, vegan, or dairy free which is something I really appreciate. The Field of Greens is my absolute favorite with house-made pesto, artichoke hearts, broccoli, green peppers, portobello mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, feta cheese, red onion, basil and mozzarella. I know it sounds like a lot, but trust me on this one because it’s out of this world. If you want to get creative you also have the option to build your own pizza.
5. Big Bob’s
Big Bob’s is the “cheers” of East Grand Rapids with some of the best pizza in town. These legendary pizzas have some of the best red sauce with your choice of thin, thick or regular crust. Choose a Big Bob’s Deluxe or Big Bob’s Veggie or combine your favorite toppings and create your own masterpiece. Grab your friends and enjoy a cold beer and delicious pizza and you won’t be disappointed.

I agree! Great choices! I am also a huge fan of Swanky’s Pizzeria. I love supporting it because it’s a small family business in the heart of GR. Tasty pizza and I love the hand tossed dough it makes for mighty fine pie.
